Anxiety Busters for Canadian Bloggers

  1. Canadian Bloggers need to realize they are perfectly imperfect human beings. Stop expecting too much of yourself. Just because someone wants something done immediately, doesn't mean you should neglect your health to get it accomplished. Exercise: Imagine - What would happen if I were in hospital and unable to type this post right now?  Would the sky fall?
  2. Get outside and walk and talk to God. Give all your problems to Him. Amazing things happen when you give all your problems to God
  3. Breathe Not getting enough air can cause anxiety all on its own. After my father passed away a minister taught me a great meditation using Psalm 46:10.
  4. Examine your inputs and delete anything that causes anxiety. There are many things scientifically proven to increase tension and anxiety: caffeine, sugars, tension-filled TV shows and movies, tension and anger-filled music, even colours can create tension. Colours? Yes! Scientists have proven certain colours cause physical reactions in people. For example, the colour red will actually increase blood pressure!
  5. Increase inputs that decrease anxiety Some things known to decrease anxiety include laughter, the colour bubblegum pink, and Vitamin B. Foods that increase tryptophan are useful too: almonds, tuna, warm milk and turkey can all help decrease anxiety.
  6. Scientists have also written quite a bit about increasing feelings of security by wearing tight stretchy clothes and snuggling up in a weighted blanket are both ways they say people can decrease anxiety by increasing DPT.
Remember - Don't sweat the small stuff - and it's all small stuff!

  1. Air is huge! Everybody talks about seasonal depressive disorder as a factor of too little light in the darkness of a Canadian winter. But I am certain that the lack of oxygen from spending all day indoors is also a big deal, as well as too little vitamin D in winter.

    1. Yes, you could definitely be onto something there about the importance of getting enough fresh air. I know I feel better if I can get outside and look at the sky.
